What happens in Reno, makes
headlines, is absolutely true, and I hope that all of you are
making plans to be in Reno on April 26th, for the Western Regional
Junior Angus Show and April 27th and 28th for the Western National
Angus Futurity. From the looks of the entries arriving at the
office were on line to have another great show. We’ve got a great
duo of judges lined up and after watching great cattle parade
before you all day you get to look forward to the nightlife that
Reno serves up in such spectacular fashion.
I want to encourage everyone to make
their hotel reservations early as the town is very busy at that
time of year and rooms start going fast. Should you have a problem
with your reservations give us a call and we’ll try and assist you
in securing lodging. Now is the time to also start buying up those
draw down tickets, they are available from any of the Western
States Angus Association Directors and Officers, Dennis Lopez and
through this office. This is not just a fun event to participate
in but those Draw Down Dollars are an important part of the
Futurity’s financial foundation.
You also don’t want to miss out
this year as the Western National Angus Futurity honors Hal and
Lois Schudel from Holiday Angus in Oregon. The tremendous support
that Hal & Lois have shown over the years to our event can truly
not be measured. I hope that many of you can be on hand as we
dedicate the 2008 WNAF to this very special couple.
I know that many of you have
inquired about how do you get your ad in the WNAF program, don’t
get left out this year, contact our office or Brian Stoller at
208/941-5272. This is a great way to get your program out in front
of breeders from all over the country.
Because of my overwhelming travel schedule I’ve missed a few
Points here and there and didn’t get the opportunity to
congratulate our western breeders Have Angus, Bar R Angus and
Aztec Angus on the Grand Champion Bull honors at the National
Western Stock show in January. Congratulations to all of you, as
well as the Sankey family from Kansas that bred the bull.
I look forward to seeing everyone in Reno, and if you have
questions or need any type of assistance do not hesitate to give
our office a call. Until next month…..
