There has been a lot of water
under the bridge since the 1st Annual Western Futurity, held at
the Sonoma County Fair on Aug. 3rd and 4th, 1953. Rivermere BJ was
the Supreme Champion. There were 23 exhibitors from five states
showing over 200 head of cattle at this first show with $10,000 in
premiums. The tradition
continues with the 56th Western National Angus Futurity on April
26, 27 and 28th, 2008. Take a break from the sale season and
calving time and get to a fun-filled, long weekend in Reno with
your family. Come and show your approval of the cattle and
exhibitors, many of them traveling hundreds of miles and spending
thousands of dollars to be there. Even with all the information we
have available to use in selecting breeding stock, we eventually
have to raise our eyes and evaluate them for soundness, thickness
and correctness. Visual appraisal is still a must when selecting
cattle to further your breeding program. This show is an excellent
opportunity to do just that. Come and visit with Angus exhibitors
and Angus friends. See what programs and what breeding are working
best. The WNAF is without a doubt one of the most fun and
classiest shows in the nation. Juniors and adults alike can enjoy
great cattle, superb dining and excellent evening entertainment.
Remember- This is your show!! It
is Angus breeders and friends that make this show such a success!!
Show your support for the Junior activities, the Western States
Ladies Auxiliary’s fundraiser for our Junior’s, the Big Draw, the
Show Girl Review and all the activities the help make this such a
great show. This is a must be there event!!
See you all in Reno.
Thanks,
Larry Jacobs
