Margaret Robinson “Cookie” Traynham

Margaret Robinson “Cookie” Traynham of Arbuckle died at age 66 on January 22, 2008 at her home. Born on April 29, 1941, in Woodland, CA, Traynham lived in Colusa County for 45 years.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of California, Davis. She spent the most of her life - 56 years - as a cattle rancher raising Shorthorn, Angus and Brahman cattle.
She enjoyed her cattle, gardening, traveling, her family and her home.

Cookie was a caring and genuine person, who tended to put others before herself. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to many.

She was a member of the American Angus Association; the American Brahman Breeders’ Association; the California Angus Association; the California Shorthorn Breeders Association; the Glenn-Colusa CattleWomen; a past Colusa County 4-H Leader among other agricultural organizations.

Cookie is survived by her husband, Lee; daughter and son-in-law, Buckley and Brad Cox of Eagle Point, Ore.; and son and daughter-in-law Roy and Christine Traynham of Arbuckle. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren.

Cookie was a great supporter of 4-H and FFA at various fairs in California and Oregon along with many other youth focused events. In lieu of flowers, the Traynham family would appreciate donations made to the Cookie Traynham Memorial Fund that is set up to benefit local 4-H and FFA members.

Contributions may be made at Umpqua Bank, 411 Fifth Street, Arbuckle, CA 95912 (530)476-4000.
