Margaret Robinson “Cookie”
Traynham
Margaret Robinson “Cookie” Traynham of Arbuckle died at age 66 on
January 22, 2008 at her home. Born on April 29, 1941, in Woodland,
CA, Traynham lived in Colusa County for 45 years.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the
University of California, Davis. She spent the most of her life -
56 years - as a cattle rancher raising Shorthorn, Angus and
Brahman cattle.
She enjoyed her cattle, gardening, traveling, her family and her
home. Cookie was a caring
and genuine person, who tended to put others before herself. She
was always willing to lend a helping hand to many.
She was a member of the American
Angus Association; the American Brahman Breeders’ Association; the
California Angus Association; the California Shorthorn Breeders
Association; the Glenn-Colusa CattleWomen; a past Colusa County
4-H Leader among other agricultural organizations.
Cookie is survived by her husband,
Lee; daughter and son-in-law, Buckley and Brad Cox of Eagle Point,
Ore.; and son and daughter-in-law Roy and Christine Traynham of
Arbuckle. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren.
Cookie was a great supporter of 4-H
and FFA at various fairs in California and Oregon along with many
other youth focused events. In lieu of flowers, the Traynham
family would appreciate donations made to the Cookie Traynham
Memorial Fund that is set up to benefit local 4-H and FFA members.
