Leroy “Roy” Evans of Elkton
 
 

Wilbur Leroy “Roy” Evans of Elkton, Oregon passed away February 14, 2007 after battling cancer at VA Transitional Care Unit, Roseburg, OR. He was 81.
He was born January 16, 1926 in Blue Hill, Nebraska to Walter A. Evans, 3rd US Marshall, and Martha Dora Thompson.

Roy, a WWII Navy Veteran one of sixty survivors - USS Bismark Sea (CVE 95) sunk February 21, 1945. Struck by two kamikazes off of Iwo Jima. He lived in California forty-eight years. He and his wife Elaine owned and operated the Black Diamond Ranch, raised registered black Angus and thoroughbred horses since 1969. Member of the American Angus Association.

Interment, Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Oregon.
